Need sleep so no shading today
Maybe tomorrow, but I’ve been known not to keep that kind of promise. Sorry
Now Shaded
March will probably involve mainly Jayden and Crusader scripts I think. I wrote a bunch last week. They are not as zany and silly as usual, but they are still funny I think. I do not like using Third and Smic for the punchline much any more. Not that they aren’t still awesome, but I think that the use of them would be… lazy.
Also: it’s fascinating the difference shading makes, it truly impressive. Furthermore, I really like the way this page works. With the exception of panel 4 I like every single panel, and especially Jayden in panel 3. Makes me soul happy.
The Lord of the Rings reference is not brilliant, it’s not the line from the film (is it even in the book? I forget) but it’s close enough right?
Don’t forget to rate the page.

I think this one’s really good art-wise, with the possible exception of Crusader’s head in the first panel. I know it’s meant to be looking up but it just looks a little odd to me. I particularly like Jayden in the second panel. Nice facial expression, hair, clothes… so everything really.
Content-wise I think I would appreciate it more if I knew who any of those musicians are. I’ve heard of most of them but don’t really know them, but it does seem a little QC-esque. I’m afraid I don’t know that line from LOTR either but I can tell it’s panel 4. Hooray for my small range of music and literature.
Jayden looks nice in pink by the way.

If he invents something like that, I want one.

Man I wish I had an idea of who half those bands are. My general knowledge of indie music in general is nil at best. I’d have to say the best part about this strip is the expressions. Usually on Jayden’s part, since I’m still finding it a bit hard to read Crusader’s more subtle expressions.
As for that selective hearing invention, I’m sure we could all use one of those. The world would be a magical place with them.

I can’t recall the exact quote, but it was by the horse maiden gal, Two towers, something along the lines of, women of this country leaned long ago, those who don’t wield a sword can still die by them.
