This might not make 100% sense if you have not seen Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder. Sorry if that’s the case.
Incidentally, if you haven’t seen into the wild green yonder, What the hell have you been doing?!? Go and buy it right now. I don’t care if you’ll go overdrawn, buy, buy now! It’s the best £13 you’ll spend in the history of your life.
In case it is not clear, in the last the panels you see the last line of the film and the ending theme, which is why they then start talking in panel 6.
Cinema guy is back! Hurray! From my perspective. I love Cinema Guy. I would happily do many comics about only cinema guy. It wouldn’t be funny, but it would be fun for me to draw… hee hee. Ah, Cinema guy… I love you more than the fans ever will. This is the first time he’s been seen outside of a cinema, and may be his last appearence for a while, because I honestly can’t think of a reason for him to turn up in the plot any time soon. He’s the only member of the J&C cast to habitually wear a hat, he just doesn’t look right without one.
Jayden got yet another new shirt, but Crusader and Kat are stuck with the same old clothes. Crusader looked a little off on the sketch layer, so I thought his red shirt would help cement him, but now I think I was over-cautious. Also Kat I just drew on auto-pilot and completely forgot to change her clothing. Though I can’t remember if her shoes were red last time.
Again the fact that I update only once a week is driving me nuts. I could have spun the release of F:ITWGY into 3-4 comics, and I had a good few permutations on the theme of futurama’s second end. Which by the way, WAS AWESOME. Anyway, this is a rather condensed version on what could have been. I still like it, I don’t show you stuff I don’t like (unless it’s part of the Ozimaar arc) but it’s not as good as it could have been.
Jayden is a poor futurama fan-girl. She loves everything about futurama, she even has a little knitted doll of Zoidberg. By contrast, I think Crusader is more of a super-fan, the kind of guy who knows exactly how it was made, who wrote which joke, listens to the DVD commentaries, watches the making of featurettes, stalks David X. Cohen and so on. Kat I think is just another futurama fan, like most sane people who are futurama fans are futurama fans.
Interesting that, Kat, the most inhuman, seems to act the most human most of the time. I seriously just noticed that, it was entirely unplanned.
I’ve fiddled with the designs of their front door again. It’s changed a lot over time, but I am now very happy with it. I doubt it will change again. Incidentally, the cinema seats are not just a recolour of pages 99-101, I actually had to make new ones. That was kinda annoying actually.
There are two other things to mention:
1) Cinema guy’s jacket has JJ8TDS on it. One of the Js stands for Jellyfish, see if you can guess what it all stands for.
2) Look closely, see the semi-hidden word?

The different font really does give this update a entirely different feel. Not that I mind, any kind of Futurama based font can do no wrong in my book, but the font size could be a bit bigger for easier readability. Also, compared to last week’s update, it looks like the perspective took a step back, as in it doesn’t feel that we’re as up close to the characters like in last comic.
Jayden’s expression in the first panel is pretty much the same as mine when I got my hands on ITWGY. As far as Futurama is concerned, we seem to be on the same wave length. It’s nice to see Cinema Guy/Kevin again. Aside from Third’s therapist, I can’t really think of any real reoccurring secondary characters. Also, the more I look at that music key, the more appropriate it seems for a series like Futurama. It reminds me of the holophonor’s music/imaging capabilities for some reason.
