There is now a Jayden and Crusader Podcast Available for Download

It’s pretty much just me ranting about various J&C related issues for just under an hour. I swear in it twice. So don’t listen to it if you’re under… 13. Other wise it will set your ears on fire, or something.

And now for something entirely different:

Considering I skipped out on Kat’s introduction storyline, I don’t know if I ever suitably got across the point that Kat Is Crazy.  I seriously don’t know how people are going to react to this, because once a guy got really angry that Kat appeared for no reason. The trouble is, I like Kat’s character, she’s the friend to Crusader that no one else is, the arguing bunch of angry people that they are.  But most of the stuff I know about Kat, I don’t know if you, the reader, knows. And whether you not knowing will negatively impact the story.

Maybe I should do another page like I did back in December, explaining the interim period. I don’t know, half the time I feel like I’m being paranoid, which is a problem I suffer from, the other half I feel I am genuinely screwing up J&C by not explaining enough.

For instance, Crusader’s line “Are you here to murder me?” That’s because when Kat showed up the first time, which I never drew, she was an assassin paid to kill him, which she only agreed to because of the insane voices in her head, the little devil and Angel. It was Crusader who got her therapy, and stopped her being a killer-for-hire.   I should really have drawn that, or at the very least put up the scripts. But I don’t know, is the brief phrasing on page 67 enough? Or should I reveal her entrance through a flash back sequence in a comic or two? Or maybe a big soliloquy from someone would do the trick? I don’t know, but it is driving me nuts, because I thought this page was funny when I thought it up, but is it, if you only know what you the audience knows? I don’t know… *Insert brain meltdown here*

Another new background is present here. I am getting less annoyed about doing them. Also noticable is the clear reference to Questionable Content with “Coffee of Ill-Portent”. If you don’t get that, read more web comics. The shop next to it is “Everything Screwdrivers”. There’s a reason for that. Feel free to speculate. It’ll be solved by next week (I think). Originally I was going to have more people in the backgrounds, so it looks less weird that Kat just… appears out of no-where. But more people would take ages to draw and colour, so screw them.

This page is me getting back on schedule. It’s a Monday, here’s a comic, sorry the updates got switched to Friday’s last fortnight. From now on, they’ll update on Mondays once more, so, no need to check back randomly not sure when a comic will appear, it’ll be clear now.

Did y’all have a good Halloween? I did almost nothing different from any other day, I finished the Halloween special a few days earlier. I was going to do a Guy Fawkes night page, but that’s this Wednesday, and there’s no way I have time for that, so, I’ll save those pages for next year. Besides, I’m locked in now, with this page. The clock is ticking down to the 100th page major plot twist. It’s not really a twist per se, you might even see it coming. But it should make the 100th comic a special one.
